Two Epsilon Epsilon Brothers Honored at the 2026 Karnea
The Epsilon Epsilon Chapter of Delta Tau Delta at the University of Arizona is proud to announce that two of our own were recognized at the 2026 Karnea in Phoenix with the Fraternity's highest alumni honors.
Stan Telford '84 — Distinguished Service Chapter
Stan Telford has been named to the Distinguished Service Chapter, a citation reserved for alumni who have shown sustained loyalty to Delta Tau Delta, rendered unusual service, and lived a character worthy of the Fraternity. Stan's record spans more than forty years (ouch!): undergraduate leadership at Epsilon Epsilon as IFC Representative and both Internal and External Vice President, followed by service as a Chapter Consultant with over 100 campus visits, Division Vice President, and years of dedicated work with Beta Upsilon at the University of Illinois as Chapter Adviser, House Corporation member, and Alumni Supervisory Chair. Nationally, he has served on the Fraternity Strategy Committee, created the Crescent Initiative to drive membership growth, and filled roles at Karnea as Operations Director, Parliamentarian, speaker, and workshop leader. Fittingly, Stan stood at the formal initiation ceremony at Homecoming 2025 that returned Epsilon Epsilon to the University of Arizona campus – the man initiated into this chapter in 1984 was present the day it was reborn.

John Lotka '70 — John W. Nichols Bridgebuilder Award
John Lotka received the John W. Nichols Bridgebuilder Award, which honors outstanding service to the establishment, development, and enhancement of a house corporation. John's connection to Epsilon Epsilon spans more than five decades, from Chapter President in 1971–72 to Graduate In-House Advisor, and, since 2011, Director and Treasurer of the Epsilon Epsilon Educational Foundation. Through the 2015 charter revocation, the sale of the chapter house, a decade of recolonization efforts, and the setbacks in between, John helped keep the house corporation solvent and its future possible. When the second colony effort was still uncertain, he worked with International President Jack Kreman to form a formal DTD Interest Group, rallying undergraduates, alumni, and the house corporation behind the petition that led the Arch Chapter to approve a new colony in February 2024. He was also a large part of the renovation of the chapter's new row home at 1633 E. First Street. The house our undergraduates occupy today stands in no small part because John refused to give up on it.
That both honors came home to Arizona in a Karnea held in our own backyard made the moment sweeter still. The brothers of Epsilon Epsilon could not be prouder. Congratulations, Stan and John — thank you for a lifetime of service to this chapter and to Delta Tau Delta.
